How Much Do They Cost?
The Two Maids & A Mop structure has different tiers of cleaning, such as “Move-in/move-out”, “Deep cleaning” and “Design with time”. Here I will discuss the estimates I got for various services.
Move-in/Move-out
This is a one-time service where Two Maids will come into your vacant residence and follow your instructions. The great thing that Two Maids offers is cleaning lists on their website that you can use to prioritize what you would like done.
Once you have your prioritized list, you can let them know how much time you would like them to spend and they will get as much of the list done as possible.
The estimate for this service at a 2000-square-foot home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (no pets) is $524. It is safe to assume that this is a starting rate and that it is strictly for two people to come to do the cleaning.
Deep Cleaning
A one-time thorough cleaning of a residence is a much-needed event. Two Maids has a very detailed list of what can be offered during this service but it is up to the client to specify where the priorities lie.
The estimate given was for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home of 2000 square feet with no pets. It was for $490 and includes normal cleaning with special attention given to vertical surfaces such as baseboards, trim, interior windows, light fixtures, the exterior of drawers and cupboards, and blinds to name a few.
Design with Time Cleaning
This package will vary for everyone. It is based on what tasks you would like done and the time allotted by you, the client. This can run from two to five hours for Two Maids to come to work.
For the same 3 bedroom, two-bath residence of 2000 square feet, the starting rate is $277.
If you choose to have recurring services, you will pay between $158 every other week and $169 weekly. If you choose to have a monthly cleaning, this will start at $184 per month.
How Compensation Works
Two Maids & A Mop is very unique. The work is done, and then the client will call or email the office and rate the work done. This rating alone decides what compensation the Two Maids will receive for the cleaning.
This only stands to help you as the client. It gives great incentive for the workers to please you with a job well done. I also find that it is very nice to know that workers are rewarded on merits!
Is Two Maids & A Mop Expensive?
The above prices seem quite reasonable as a starting point. Merry Maids will charge $180 for an hour of work with two Merry Maids. And Merry Maids requires a two-hour minimum so even the smallest of jobs will cost $360 with two people working. So, if you compare the two, Two Maids & A Mop is much more affordable.
Keep in mind that both companies have roughly the same standards of cleanliness and they both will bring their own equipment and cleaners to the job.
There’s also Molly Maid, which I’ve compared with Merry Maids in this article. They tend to be slightly less expensive than Merry Maids in general, but the reviews are mixed.
Should You Tip Two Maids & A Mop?
Two Maids & A Mop does not have mandatory gratuity but it is the kindest of gestures and very appreciated.
Another great way to show appreciation is to leave them good reviews and to score your Two Maids well, so they receive the highest compensation possible for the work done.
How Good is Two Maids & A Mop Cleaning Service?
This company has amazing reviews. It is likely due to the fact that their compensation plan rewards the Two Maids doing the work for a job well done. This gives a great incentive compared to flat-rate work.
Another reason this company gets good reviews is that expectations are clear for the client and the Two Maids hired. The lists of what is included are modifiable, but it is a starting place and sets the tone for what jobs will be completed.
If you have ever had a cleaning service come to your home, you know that not having clear expectations can cause grief. I personally had this happen when I asked a cleaning service to clean the blinds at my home.
Their idea was to just use a duster to wipe off the dust which resulted in grime staying put and smear marks of dust that were awful to look at (even in the dining area). Overall, they made the blinds look worse but they thought the job requested had been done. The wording is important and checklists are essential.

The two ladies that did a deep clean this morning left soil/potting soil all over the mat and beyond at my front door. I did not look outside while they were here. I shouldn’t need to. My son had to use a leaf blower to clean it up.
